Generous Sponsors support kids' page

Encouraging  children to read is the top prioritv of The Northern Daily Leader' children page Leader Lorikeets and new sponsors Tamworth's Cargill Beef Australia and Angus-& Robertson.

The Northern Dailv Leader's circulation and news paper sales manager Jo Maiden said "The Leader was thrilled to receive the generous support of team members at Cargill Beef Australia Tamworth as well as from Paul McManus and his team at Angus & Robertson"Ms Maiden said.

The Cargill administration staff have  agreed generously to funding the purchase of quality books from the Tamworth book retailer who will be supplying prizes for the young contributors of the fortnightly children's page.   Brad Lockrey, of the plants administration office said the sale of soft drinks raised the money that would go towards the book purchases. "This is our way of helping and buying books for kids" Mr Lockrey said." 

Ms Maiden said."Leader Lorikeets has proven to be an ideal medium through which children can express theirselves in a variety of ways."Young artists, poets and creative writers need to send their work into The Leader Lorikeets to be in the running for the new book prizes.

Winners are announced on the fortnightly children's page where their work could also be published.
