Cargill constructed and commissioned its first Australian vegetable oil refinery in Newcastle, NSW, commencing production in June 2007. The state of the art refinery processes and distributes refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) canola oil, sunflower oil (polyunsaturated and high oleic), soybean oil and cottonseed oil as well as imported palm olein and palm stearine. Our high quality oils and shortenings are distributed in bulk throughout QLD, NSW, VIC & SA to some of Australia's premier food companies.
The Cargill refinery in Newcastle is fully integrated with our existing multi-seed crush facility. This enables supply of freshly extracted canola, high oleic canola, sunflower and high oleic sunflower oils to the refinery and reduces the storage and handling of crude oils. The key benefit is the provision of optimum quality feedstock to the refinery which is ideal to retain quality. In addition supply chain costs, such as road freight, between the crush and refining facility, are elimated due to the integration of the crush and refinery. The location of our facility also allows our customers access to a supply option unique to Cargill in Australia. The integrated crush and refinery is conveniently located on the port and therefore meets AQIS requirements for processing imported oilseeds.
Since June 2007 Cargill Australia has produced and marketed the following refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) vegetable oils. For Product Data Sheets please contact us
