Cargill Proud to Support Pinery 10 Years On.

Ten years ago, the Pinery bushfire became one of South Australia’s fastest moving and most destructive fires. It swept across the Adelaide Plains, leaving a 50-kilometre path of damage that will never be forgotten. Many families, growers, and local businesses were deeply affected, and the impact is still felt today.

To honour this important milestone, a special community event, “Pinery 10 Years On,” will be held at The Farm Centre in Freeling on Sunday, November 23. The event will bring together people who lived through the fire, the volunteers who helped with recovery, and the emergency crews who continue to protect our communities every day.

Cargill is proud to support this event and stand with the communities that make South Australia strong. We believe it is important to pause, remember, and recognise the courage shown during and after the Pinery fire. This gathering is also a chance for people to reconnect, share stories, and reflect on the progress made over the past decade.

We are grateful for the resilience shown by local growers and families who worked together to rebuild. Their strength inspires us, and we remain committed to supporting the region for many years to come. Cargill thanks all community members, local councils, emergency services, and volunteers who continue to keep these towns safe and thriving.
