Helping our partners thrive
Through our two crush plants in eastern Australia – Newcastle in New South Wales and Footscray in Victoria – we process over 700,000 tons of canola, cottonseed, sunflower seed and soybeans every year, producing protein meal and vegetable oils for the, food processing, animal nutrition and animal production industries.
We work hard to make our partners' businesses more successful, and offer a range of practical support such as price risk management and logistic solutions. We also help Australian grains and oilseeds producers access global markets via our network of international trading offices.
Our capabilities and resources
Located in the port of Newcastle, our fully integrated refinery and multi-seed crush facility refines, bleaches and deodorises canola, sunflower, soybean and cottonseed oils. The plant meets Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service requirements for processing imported oilseeds, such as palm olein and stearine. The high quality oils and shortenings produced at Newcastle are then distributed to customers including many of Australia’s premier food companies.
Through our GrainFlow business, we operate a network of 17 storage centres in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. These centres provide efficient and cost effective receival, storage and outturn of large quantities of bulk grains and oilseeds.
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Cargill Australia, AWB originates grains, oilseeds and pulses on behalf of Cargill. AWB’s network of farm marketers and grain origination specialists located across the Australian grain belt works closely with growers providing access to a range of tools and services to help farmers prosper.
